Iyengar Yoga Massage Polanco
B.K.S. Iyengar was born on December 14, 1918. He started doing yoga as a teenager in an effort to improve his health after contracting tuberculosis, studying with his brother-in-law, Krishnamacharya, in Mysore, India. Iyengar began teaching yoga in 1936. As American and European students began seeking yoga instruction in the 1960s, Iyengar's method rose to prominence.
Iyengar Yoga is a form of Hatha yoga that has an emphasis on detail, precision and alignment in the performance of posture (asana) and breath control (pranayama). Strength, mobility and stability are gained through the asanas.
Iyengar Yoga often makes use of props, such as belts, blocks, and blankets, as aids in performing asanas (postures). The props enable the practitioner to perform the asanas correctly, minimising the risk of injury or strain, and making the postures accessible to both young and old.
By working to achieve perfect alignment in each pose, Iyengar yoga students aim to create balance in the body and mind. In addition to helping the practitioner gain flexibility, balance, and strength, Iyengar yoga may be useful in the management of certain health conditions like chronic low back pain.
Yoga Massage Therapy performs a selective combination of different assisted yoga stretchings as a thoughtful form of massage bodywork therapy, designed to help you improve your health and increase your well-being.
